DeRace

Introduction

DeRace is a play-to-earn NFT horse racing game based on Ethereum blockchain and supported by DERC token, the game’s in-game currency. According to the developer team, DeRace is the first decentralized (DeFi) blockchain-based racehorse platform where players can buy and breed NFT horses and host races in their owned hippodromes for revenue.

Gameplay

DeRace’s gameplay centers around two main roles: horse owner, and bookmaker. Horse owners can breed their owned horses, trade them and compete in races. Bookmakers are administrators of hippodromes. The game aims to simulate real-life horse racing in a virtual world, therefore it contains other details about horse racing and horses in general, such as cool-down time, rarity, performance, and value for horses. 

Every horse in DeRace is unique and has different characteristics. Sex, color, shape, breed, racing and breeding cooldown, stamina, and speed differs according to the NFT horse. Aside from its visual characteristics, a horse’s star shines at most with its speed and stamina factors. These two parameters are the main stats for winning a race. 

Players who have a horse can participate in a hippodrome race for a fee. The hippodrome selects players by pre-set parameters. The winning horse and its owner collect a certain amount of share of all participant fees and additional prizes. The outcome of the races is random because the technology behind the races is RNG-based. The stats of a horse plays a role to win the race but it is not guaranteed. So luck is a crucial parameter as well in order to win the race.

Token Information

In DeRace, every horse race takes place in a hippodrome. Players can be administrators of a hippodrome or bookmakers if they own more than 5000 DERC tokens. Bookmakers set the dates and settings of a race in their hippodrome, as well as race entry fees and prize pools. The races that bookmakers are setting can be public, comply with certain criteria, or invite-only.
