Gem Guardian is a play-to-earn blockchain-based, action NFT card game that utilizes Binance Smart Chain and Polygon networks with its NFT assets and cryptocurrencies, GEMG, and GPAY. The game revolves around earning rewards by defeating powerful enemies. To start playing Gem Guardian, players must purchase two first-level loot boxes and open them to receive NFT guardians by spending 2 GEMG tokens and 300 GPAY tokens. Players need at least one Dragon and one Guardian to start battles in the game.
In the game, there are five different elemental Guardian and Dragon styles: earth, ice, wood, fire, and steel. Each elemental style has a natural dominance against another elemental. For example, steel has an advantage over wood, wood has an advantage over ice, ice has an advantage over fire, fire has an advantage over earth, and lastly, earth has an advantage over steel elementals. In this scenario, the elemental advantage means a 20% increased winning chance of the battle, and the elemental disadvantage means a 20% losing chance of the battle.
Unlike other similar games, in Gem Guardian players use gems or Dragons as weapons on their Guardians. These gems and Dragons determine the elemental style of the guardian, therefore, they mean an advantage or disadvantage to the Guardian, according to the opponent they face. Also, Dragons are the main offensive and defensive indicators for Guardians; Guardians use Dragons’ offensive and defensive abilities to outpower their opponents. Each Guardian has an attack power or armor based on their Dragons or gems. Guardians have a certain amount of life force that indicates their stamina. Guardians consume 240 life force for each battle, and the life force replenishes every minute.
Gem Guardian uses two different types of cryptocurrencies for various purposes. The GEMG token is the governance token of the game. The GEMG token can be used for voting for the future of the game, staking, and purchasing loot boxes. The GPAY token, on the other hand, is the in-game token of the game. It is used for transaction fees, burning, in-game rewards, and also loot box purchases as well. Players can earn GPAY tokens by staking GEMG tokens into the liquidity pools and completing in-game tasks.
