Otherside

Introduction

Otherside is a blockchain world-building metaverse that provides an exciting environment for players to create, compete, connect, and explore together by utilizing NFT assets and APE tokens. It is co-developed by Yuga Labs and Improbable, and based on the technology from M². Users can experience Otherside through a narrative gameplay experience called The Voyager's Journey. Otherside is available on the PC platform.

Gameplay

Otherside offers three types of interoperable content: People, Places, and Things. The Otherside Development Kit (ODK) is a suite of creation tools built with Improbable that enables users to create interoperable content. Players can create their own account, friends list, and identity across Otherside. They can also travel between worlds with common game systems and use interoperable objects, avatars, wearables, and items between places.

Otherside aims to let thousands of Voyagers gather in the same space at the same time through Improbable's M² technology. The platform will solve three major technical challenges: Crowd Networking & Rendering, Crowd & Spatial Audio, and Access from Any Device.

The Agora is Otherside's planned marketplace for buying, sorting, finding, trading, and selling in-game assets. The platform's features and uses will be shaped by the needs of the community, and players can earn rewards through participating in the game's economy. 

In the future, the community can create new experiences and games to expand the possibilities of the metaverse. The platform's features and uses will be shaped by the needs of the community. Only Otherdeed holders and selected third-party developers can participate and contribute to the first stages of the platform's development.

Token Information

ApeCoin, an ERC-20 governance and utility token controlled by and built on the ApeCoin DAO community, is used in the Otherside ecosystem.
