Volume (24h)Snook is a play-to-earn multiplayer blockchain arcade game on the Polygon network. It is a game where players control a snake and compete with other players to be the last man standing. Through participation in game modes, players can earn SNK tokens and own NFT snakes. The game is available to play on browsers.
Snook embraces a kill or be killed approach for its multiplayer gameplay. Players mint a snake when they start a game, and it will have three distinctive traits; color, pattern, and swag. Players can control their NFT snakes to eat and collect traits that are dropped by dead players, which as a result, changes their appearance. Specific combinations of traits unlock special skins, thus boosting an NFT snake’s value.
Traits are only assigned when a new snake is minted, and they can appear on one of the four body parts of the snake; upper body, lower body, upper head, and lower head. When a snake dies, it has a certain probability to drop a trait. Dead snake NFTs can either be burned or resurrected which has a cost. Resurrected snakes will lose a number of traits that are equal to the number of times they are reborn and the player needs to pay SNK tokens for this process.
The game map is a giant circle and it contains an extraction zone that acts as an escape mechanism. Players can leave the map without losing their current snake if they find the extraction point. There will be two random extraction points at any given time at the edge of the map.
There are special events such as tournaments that are held monthly. Players will be invited to the tournament to participate in tournament matches which are time-limited. The top players will take the highest portion of the prize. Snakes that die in the tournament mode won’t be losing their traits.
Challenge mode is a 1v1 PvP mode where players compete on a map that shrinks over time, much like the battle royale modes in other games. There are three different challenge types; Wonderland, Dress Room Fight, and Big Boys Table. In Wonderland, two players are chosen randomly. The winner is rewarded with a random special trait that can only be gained from this mode and snakes that die can’t be resurrected. Dress Room Fight has the same rules as Wonderland, however, only snakes with special skins can participate and enter the mode by pledging a trait. The winner receives the loser’s snake. Big Boys Table is a private custom room that each player can enter by putting in SNK tokens which creates a reward pool that the winner takes.
SNK tokens can be earned through successful participation in game modes. It is used to enter the game and mint a snake, resurrect a snake, and join special game modes. SNK used to mint snakes will be burned immediately, which lowers the total supply. SNK used in resurrections and market trades goes into the treasury, which is used to fund special skin rewards, staking rewards, and tournament prize pools. SNK tokens can also be staked.
