As faction citizens of Star Atlas, players can influence the outcome of the intergalactic conflict between humankind of The MUD, alien races of The ONI, and sentient androids of The USTUR. Along the way of changing the future, players create the opportunity to earn rewards for their contribution to the ongoing conflict.

The gameplay of the game centers on four different gaming experiences; grand strategy, exploration, role-playing, and space flight simulation. The grand strategy aspect of the game encourages players to take the wheel of their adventure and install strategic trade routes using an offensive or defensive approach. To be able to augment that grand strategy, the game enables players to venture into deep space, to scan and explore celestial and terrestrial assets of the cosmos. The deep space of Star Atlas hosts valuable riches, waiting to be explored, mined, refined, and traded through the Universal Marketplace. To be able to acquire all these riches and dive into the economy of Star Atlas, mining is crucial. The wealth derived from mining opens the doors of other revenue veins. Players can choose trading, mining, cargo hauling, crafting as a career path. While delving into this cosmic metaverse, science-fantasy aspects of the game let you pilot your spacecraft into the unknown depths of space.

Star Atlas uses ATLAS and POLIS tokens for in-game currency. In-game items such as ships, equipment, crews, components, buildings, blueprints are all unique and waiting to be discovered by players.
