Volume (24h)Mines of Dalarnia is a 2D play-to-earn free-to-play action-adventure game with procedurally generated levels that utilizes DAR as its token. Players can mine and combine various in-game items, improving their skills and gear in order to progress through the world of the Dalarnia while searching for rare relics and artifacts. There are different terrains to explore and various types of monsters to kill either solo or with your friend.
In Mines of Dalarnia all of the assets in the game are represented as NFTs and can be exported and traded on open markets. The game issues DAR as the governance token and the currency required for upgrading tools and trade on the marketplace. Players have a chance to win token rewards in the game in multiple ways. The minerals collected and the tools can be traded on NFT marketplaces for cryptocurrencies and players could participate in competitions and win token rewards in DAR. Players will be grouped based on their levels and the more advanced a player is, the higher the rewards are for these competitions. Also, players can stake DAR tokens in order to generate returns and to make their game progress faster.
The main gameplay is set up around mining to collect resources and battling. There are abundant resources of different minerals underground that players can expect to find and mine. With the terrain varying each time, so does the resources. When mining, players will be focused on improving their equipment by playing the mining game in order to receive resources. Mining options are limited by the miners' power level, indicating his/her progress. While mining players might have to battle monsters, avoid various traps, and destroy blocks of different qualities in order to find resources. Each successful action improves players' high scores which ultimately decides which rewards they will receive after mining in terms of resources and loot. However, mining sessions are limited in time. The session will end if the time runs out or the player dies, due to losing all health points. In that case, the player's high score will be reduced by a certain amount, resulting in a lesser amount of rewards.
When beginning mining, players can either purchase a Limited Edition Starter Pack, purchase a Basic Starter Pack, or use a Free-to-Play Pack to start mining. The Free-to-Play Pack only includes the basic equipment and with that equipment, players can only mine in Depth 1 level mines but won't be able to start runs in Depth 2 and 3 level mines and won't have access to the crafting features. They can trade their resources on the marketplace but will have to buy a Basic Starter Pack if they want to interact with all of the game's features such as crafting and mining in different depths.
In addition to mining gameplay, players can also become a landowner that can offer a variety of opportunities to make money. Players will need to pay a price in order to buy the piece of land, which is represented in the form of NFT. Buyers can choose to buy land of different types. There will be a minimum reward for landowners either in the form of tokens, necessary tools or minerals airdrop, or other formats based on the collective decisions of the token holder. After buying the land, the player can choose to rent his/her land in return for the in-game CHR token. Players that choose to rent a plot of land, will be able to run the plot and mine its resources for one run.
I am not going to lie; I’ve always had a bias toward platform games since I was a little kid. I always thought they were pointless and boring until I met this fun and addictive game.
Hello all, and welcome to Gamepedia! Today, we’ll be digging into the Darkness, Ice, Lava, and Terra worlds of Dalarnia. Sharpen your pickaxes and check your headlights' battery; it will be a deep mining adventure!
Mines of Dalarnia is a F2P (free-to-play) 2D mining adventure and exploration game that runs on the Chromia blockchain network. The core of the gameplay is very simple; mine the four worlds to upgrade your miner character, and travel deep into the expeditions as far as you can go. As you go deeper into the four worlds of Dalarnia by smashing the blocks, you will encounter various creatures and engage in fierce battles with them. Sounds fun? Then let's get into a little more detail!
First of all, you can play Mines of Dalarnia without signing up for the game or creating an account. However, I suggest you don’t do that. The reason for that is if you create an account on Chromia Vault, and sign in to the game with that account, you will receive 20 Dalarnia tokens for free. These tokens will be very useful for you to mine on different expeditions which players own. If you don’t have any DAR tokens, you will simply just be stuck on your free expedition forever and won’t be able to upgrade your miner after reaching a certain level. So, just do a few more clicks and create an account on Chromia Vault. A friendly reminder though: do not forget to write down your seed phrase when creating an account.
That black line covers my account information. What? I care about my privacy.
Mines of Dalarnia is a F2P browser-based (free-to-play) 2D mining adventure and exploration game that runs on the Chromia blockchain network. That’s a reasonable question. The answer is, well, everything. Everything changes when it comes to worlds, from monsters to mineable resources, oxygen usage to heat or freeze resistance. There are four different worlds in total in the game where you can explore and mine resources. You can switch between the worlds by renting other players’ expeditions or buying your expedition as your resource needs change. I will explain the renting and the buying systems in detail in a minute, don’t worry.
The Darkness World is the hardest one in terms of dangers, but it is also the richest one to mine valuable resources.
To be able to dig wherever you want in terms of worlds, your character must be sufficiently developed. It’s not possible to jump into the Darkness World at the beginning and start digging up some minerals. You need to climb the ladder step by step by starting at Terra World. After gathering enough resources in Terra World to upgrade your character’s equipment, then you can proceed to other worlds.
In my honest opinion, this is where the fun starts. Upgrading your character is very satisfying in this game. It is probably because you can directly see the progress of your character’s development. When you start the game, your character basically is an apprentice, and it takes more than one pickaxe hit to destroy a block. After spending some time gathering minerals in your free zone, however, you slowly start to increase your miner’s equipment, and blocks become very easy to destroy. It is magical to see a block destroyed by your character with a little effort.
There are ten different improvements for your character in total.
At the beginning of the game, your free expedition site is enough to upgrade literally everything. However, when you reach around grade D or D+, you’ll need different kinds of minerals which you can’t find on your expedition site. What do you do when you need different minerals? Well, you buy some land in four worlds, or even better, you rent some.
Every player has their free expeditions to help them explore the worlds of Mines of Dalarnia. However, you won’t be able to upgrade your character’s equipment after some time because you’ll need different kinds of minerals that you can’t find in your expedition.
Mineral types will be written under the name of an expedition. You can check the names of minerals to see if you need them to upgrade your character.
When you reach that upgrade limit, you need to rent other players’ expeditions to mine different resources for you to upgrade your equipment. To rent an expedition, you need DAR (Dalarnia token). Do you remember me saying that you should create an account and acquire 20 DAR tokens for free? Well, that’s why I said it; now you can rent expeditions with your free DAR tokens. You’re welcome.
On a side note, you don’t rent these lands for a period of time; you rent these lands per entry. You need to rent it again to start mining when you complete your expedition.
You can see all available expeditions by clicking the “RENT” tab in the game’s menu. Also, you can use filtering to filter the mineral you need the most.
Let’s say you don’t want to rent an expedition, instead, you want to own one. Well, you can do that and become a landowner yourself. All you have to do is click the “BUY” tab in the game’s menu. You’ll be able to see all NFT land plots under that tab. Unfortunately, I was not lucky enough to find an available land plot to buy. So, my marketplace was totally empty.
I checked this marketplace for days to buy an available land plot, but I could not find one.
I came across a Reddit post about not finding an available land plot: “The page where you can buy plots is usually blank, but a few times a day a For Sale plot will appear. The For Sale plot will be on there for less than 5 minutes before it is sold. Sometimes I leave that window open and refresh throughout the day to see if there is a plot I can afford with rare minerals. To date, I have not bought one.”. We thank you for this helpful tip, dear Reddit user!
To buy a land plot, you need to be very lucky and quick. As the Reddit user mentioned above, the marketplace’s buying section is really blank nearly all the time. That’s because lands are in high demand and sold out very quickly. Everyone wants to be a landowner because of its perks. When you own land in the Mines of Dalarnia, you can rent your land plot to other players and earn passive income in form of DAR. You set a renting fee for your land plot and profit from it. That’s why it’s very hard to come across an available land plot in the marketplace because it is the most valued asset among the players. In addition to that, every land plot is an NFT. That means every land plot has its unique appearance in terms of block and environment settings.
A side note; you don’t rent these lands for a period of time. You rent these lands per entry. You need to rent it again to start mining when you complete your expedition.
Well, that depends on your needs. You see, there are 20 different types of minerals with two different rarities in the game, and at some point, you need to mine for each of them to upgrade your miner fully. Sometimes you’ll need to mine for the most common mineral, scraps, and sometimes you’ll need something much rarer, such as chromite. The distribution of the minerals is directly connected to the type of world of your expedition.
Basic minerals are very common and can be found nearly in every expedition. They are used to perform basic equipment upgrades and can be found in your free zone.
Exotic minerals, however, are rarer and can only be found in bought or rented land plots. They are used to perform more advanced equipment and plot upgrades.
A side note to the minerals; they are not NFT assets. They can only be used to upgrade your gear and character.
I had an incredibly great time while playing this game. The game may seem very simple and monotonous from the outside, but it is not. I think the simple structure of the game is what makes Mines of Dalarnia addictive. Working towards something, in that case, upgrading your equipment, adds color to the game. In addition, the constant need for different minerals in the game completely ends the monotony. I really enjoyed Mines of Dalarnia.
Not so bad, eh?
In my overall gameplay time, I’ve managed to experience 15 mining runs. I was successful 14 times, one time, however, I died because I couldn’t find the exit in time; I ran out of oxygen in a Terra world land plot. You can see my statistics above in detail.
I really wanted to buy a land plot to rent to other players and earn DAR tokens myself, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find an available land plot. Owning and renting your land plot is the main way to earn DAR tokens in Mines of Dalarnia, since they are the main NFT assets of the game. For that reason, I’ve only acquired a few DAR tokens as a reward for my time in the game from the game itself.
The game used to require players to buy a started pack in order to play the game. However, this situation has changed. Now, you can play and enjoy the game free of charge. Of course, if you enjoy your time in the game, you can always buy packs or lands to improve your gaming experience and make a profit out of the game.

I was skeptical at first, then I took an NFT arrow in the knee.
